Human Rights Victims of Martial Law Claim Compensation
35 imagesThe Philippine government's Human Rights Claims Board was created to oversee the claims of victims of human rights during Marcos' time. Victims from Leyte and Samar came together in Tacloban last June 2014 to apply for compensation. Most of the claimants had come in behalf of a brother, a sister, a parent or a relative who had suffered human rights abuses during former president Ferdinand Marcos' regime. Claims must have happened between 1972-1986.
