I am a photographer based in Manila, Philippines. I was born and raised in Baguio City in Northern Luzon. Photography first attracted me when I was a teenager when opportunity came for me to document my Ibaloy heritage. My father gave me a small Japanese camera to do this.Ibaloys originally occupied the southern part of Benguet province of Northern Luzon, Philippines. Today, Ibaloys have migrated to as far away as North America and Europe mostly to find work and now are established there. When I first began traveling to various parts of the Philippines, I was awed by how rich and diverse the cultures were in my country. So I decided to be a photographer. Stories of land and people have always been my interest. I have freelanced since 1998 after working in a corporate foundation. My stories have been on Culture, Women and Children, the Environment, Documentary, Travel and Adventure Sports. |
